SUMMARY SONG BY SONG

In the beginning an inner voice expresses its confusion about living (Conflict 1): Why am I living, what should I do... It deals with the conflict of trying to find a reason to live. Specifically in the situation when one feels discouraged (maybe depressed) and gets assaulted with all these kind of questions.

Song 1   Your Graces Welcome

Introductory song: The singer realizes that his body strives every second to survive but at the same time presents the possibility of dying to end up the struggle and the confusion of living.  Later he welcomes the audience and says he hopes to bring a solution to this (“I hope to restore all these holes”).

Song 2   I Think I Lost My Mind

This song sets forth other issues that add to his confusion:  What is the sense of life? I am trying to understand but I just get more confused. Is it important what I am trying everyday if one day there will be nothing left behind?  Why working so hard? Why hurrying all the time?  All these makes him declare “I think I lost my mind”.

There is a small movie in-between this song that states that no matter how deep we try to find out where we came from (in order to understand our purpose in this life), we only know how we came to existence but not why.

When the song finishes another small movie brings hope: “Perhaps our capacity is limited to look beyond our human reality but I believe even inside our limited dimension the answer can be found.”

Song 3   Let Us Go & Make Our Visit

The singer invites the audience to introspection and analysis of their behavior in order to find the answer.

By doing it he finds out that most of his activities turn around working, amusement, eating and sleeping. And that all of them (except amusement) are related to the maintenance of himself in life (he finds an explanation for amusement later in song 8).

Song 4   Maintenance In This Life

Confirms the idea that we mainly are maintaining ourselves in this life. Then proposes that even if disturbances blind us we should keep on maintaining ourselves because that is how we are going to be well.

During intervals of this song the principle of maintenance is emphasized in a movie dialogue by exposing that the self-evident fundamental truth of our life is to continue with our life; and to let life continue itself. Hence giving a limited resolution to Conflict 1(more resolutions coming later): I am living because I am an effect of life and what I should do is to let it continue happening.

Movie 5   (Presents Conflict 2)

To continue life may be our purpose and we are designed to accomplish it but that doesn't mean it is an easy job. We are such sophisticated animals that we are bombarded all the time by internal and external demands that are driving us crazy.

Song 5   What Do You Want?

Recounts the stressing experience of the race we are immersed to fulfill all the demands our maintenance requires.

Song 6 The Emptiness of Death

Devastated after all the stress and hard work, suicide thoughts assault him again.

Song 7   Who Am I

This song aims to aid in his desperation by telling, in another way, the sun comes after the storm. Also explains why sometimes we feel distressed and why is important to be willing to live: “Otherwise I may be alive but death inside myself. And that's an unbearable painful feeling I don't want to carry...” while I am living.

Finally he understands that his will to live comes as a result of feeling well. Hence, as this is the time for life (death will come in due course) he must work on feeling well.

Song 8   I Feel Like

Pleasure makes us feel well.  It is a sparkle that triggers in us the will to live. So we should strive for it.

Resolution of Conflict 2: We need pleasure to carry on with all the demands of life. To make life bearable and enjoyable. Note: feeling or showing pleasure and contentment is a definition of happiness. This statement, at the same time, brings the missing resolution for Conflict 1:  Amusement is a form of pleasure.  In the end, the song describes how strong and seductive pleasure can be (introduction to Conflict 3).

Song 9   Pretty Lady

Pleasure, represented this time as the beauty of a woman and the sex appeal it arouses (a common situation) brings another conflict itself: the imminent danger of wanting more and more and falling into excess (Conflict 3).

Song 10    I'm a Machine

So we have to be careful in order not to get lost in the charms of pleasure or we will become automatons incapable of making the right decisions of life.

Song 11    Mind Tricks

Such burning appeal of pleasure can dazzle our mind to the point that it starts playing tricks on us. In such crooked ways that it may even make us want to “conquer the world”.

Later, in the bridge of the song, states that all this pursue of pleasure is subjective so he should play tricks back on his mind to gain control on it and on himself.

Note: This is the starting point to resolution of Conflict 3 which gets developed later. The next songs are at the same time a continuation of resolutions to Conflict 1, 2 and a conclusion of the whole project.

Song 12    What Do You Want? 2nd Part

In this 2nd part of a previous song a dialogue makes a sarcasm of our way of living in order to emphasize the wrong ways we think we need to follow to reach happiness.

Song 13    I Better Stop My Mind

I got to stop my mind and change the wrong ideas I have otherwise I will keep on falling in the vicious circle of unhappy feelings.

Song14    Hold On Mister

Wake up, I'm having a childish behavior. I have a new toy and after a second I want a newer one. I have to realize that happiness is in my mind and not in what I do not have.

Song 15    All In My Mind

My insecurity, my disappointments and defeats are all in my mind.  So happiness is at my hand by changing the way I look at things and set up my mind.

Song 16    What Should I do?

At the same time, as stated before in songs 3 & 4, it is basic to not forget about our maintenance which can be summarized in 3 main aspects: reinstate, repair and prevent. Here more detail is given on what each of them means which can be summarized as follows:  We are all matter-energy.  And we all make use of matter-energy to live so we continuously have to input (reinstate) more, we all try to prevent and repair any damages in order to maintain ourselves.

Song 17    Smile (Open Your Mind)

This and the next song try to bring conclusive ideas of the whole project: we have to work on feeling well, maintain ourselves, get rid of wrong ideas, about happiness, that enchain us...

Song 18    Can You Feel the Thrill?

...and most important of all, work on having awareness and full appreciation of what we already have. There is pleasure and contentment surrounding us. Being capable of feeling and treasuring the sources of happiness we already have and not just working on making things better (outside us) is the final wisdom exposed in this project.
